The day my life changed | Craig Caldicott OAM
Craig Caldicott sat down with The Advertiser to discuss how pursuing a career in criminal defence law changed his life.

Our CEO Craig Caldicott OAM recently joined The Advertiser’s Anna Vlach for a chat on his awe-inspiring career—which actually began with an appreciation for the fictional criminal defence attorney, Perry Mason.
Craig has been involved in a number of high profile cases including the 1993 Polyukhovich war crimes case, the NCA coronial inquest in 1999, Ridgeway v The Queen which went all the way to the High Court and saw the introduction of an undercover operations act in every state.
On defending the guilty, Craig says he’s “bound by [his] instructions,” and that “everyone deserves to be represented.”
Craig expresses his hopes that there will be change to the old ethos of “rack[ing] and pack[ing] and stack[ing] them”, and more government support for rehabilitation.
To switch off from his demanding job, Craig turns to his book collection.
